Mmmm Definitely a lesson in patience...

It's only been bottled for 2 weeks but I just had to test one of my winter warmers. Based on a Theakston's OP clone but I messed about with the recipe hops. If anything I've made it a weeny bit too bitter, but give it another month and I reckon that will be pretty good. 6.4%, 35p a pint Grin

Golly I like the sound of that...... When I've got the first flush of wine making out of me, I'll get overwhelmed by the beer.

Drink beer when you're thirsty, it's tastier and wetter. A half pint is good but a pint is much better ;0)

Sorry you aren't enjoying the Caxton Steve, as its one of my faves. Just finished my last bottle of a summer brew (July I think) and enjoyed it all.....It does slightly improve with age.

Tonight is the start of my work break and enjoying also another Edme stout and a couple of cooper bitters......going to have to nag Richard for his bitter tweek, but its okay as is

Rhubarb & strawberry, made using sugar juice extraction method for the 3lbs of rhubarb and subsequent pulp fermentation after the 1.5 lbs (that amount was not for any particular reason, it was how many were in a bag in the freezer) of strawberrys were added.

And it tastes far too strawberry'ish - might try again with only half/third of a pound. My wife won't drink it so I'm stuck with that job.

Last night I sampled one of my "early" Christmas presents-- the "Carn' Mor' " collection------ and "brief" comments .

Highland Yellow 12 yr Cask 46%    Very pleasant heather & fruit,
Islay White    12 " " "    Seaweed & TCP too pronounced,
Speyside Red 11 " " "    Warming, mellow soft and flowery,
Island Blue    12 " " "    Superb-- robust character lingering,

Sampled neat, with 25% water also with Ginger Tams liqueur.
Will be sampling again tomorrow night just to make sure I got them right the first time, would do tonight only we've got visitors and I've got to be up early Sunday , so I'll just stick to wine tonight.
